This special exhibition, which closed on 13 February 2021, was founded and led by Artistic Director Jason Lim (a renowned Singaporean ceramicist and performance artist) and curated in partnership with SEED the Art Space. Jason was joined by works from a diverse group of contemporary ceramic artists  including former SEACS member Delia Prvacki  plus FOM member Madhvi Subrahmanian, as well as Kerry Jameson, Ahmad Abu Bakar, Chua Soo Kim, Pang Swee Tuan, Lim Kim Hui, Angie Seah, Steven Low, Teoh Huey Ling, Todd Tok, and Nelson Lim, Daisy Toh, Shane Ng, Hans Chew, and Tan Shao Qi. Delia and Jason were two of our speakers who participated in SEACS’ 50th anniversary symposium on ceramics (‘What’s so Fascinating about Ceramics?’) held in October 2019 in conjunction with SMU (Singapore Management University).

We spent an engaging afternoon with Jason and Kerry Jameson  plus several of the other exhibitors, and were lucky enough to have reserved spaces for the demonstration raku firing led by Jason one very sunny afternoon. The enthusiasm of the various artists for their medium was apparent, and we were pleased to hear that Singapore is engaging more actively in supporting the arts, understanding the important role it plays in a thriving society. SCN was supported in part by the National Arts Council.

Here are just a few of the photographs your SEACS members took when visiting the exhibition (with the relevant artist’s name below their works):
