Due to the large number of books that have been offered for sale this year by the family of a former member, SEACS will be holding two separate events:
Part I: Books on Asian Art, History and Ceramics on 17 September, 2024 (1 to 5 pm)
Part II: Our Annual Ceramics & Book Sale on 21 & 22 September, 2024 (10 am to 6 pm)
Members wishing to make submissions must deliver their artefacts with the accompanying required sheets on either Sat & Sun – 17 & 18 Aug, 2024 (10 to 6 pm). (Other dates are possible by arrangement–see the overall Instructions for details.)
Sales items may include:
- Asian ceramic wares (single items or ‘groupings’) or other Asian artefacts
- Books, magazines and catalogues on Asian ceramics or related topics (history, trade, archaeology, shipwrecks ++)
- Related materials: magnifying glasses, display stands, etc.
The purpose of this sale is not to raise funds, but to give an opportunity for members and their friends to buy/sell, handle and discuss ceramics. As a result, 10% of the sale proceeds will be retained by the Society to cover costs, but the Society is always happy to receive larger amounts if SEACS members wish to donate 100% of the sale proceeds to the Society.
Information regarding location, etc. will be sent to all members in early September; members are encouraged to invite their friends to our sales events.
