SEACS is saddened to hear of the recent passing of Doctor of Art History Edmund Edwards KcKinnon, a long-time member and friend of SEACS. An intermittent resident of Southeast Asia since 1960, he studied agriculture at the Edinburgh and East of Scotland College and thereafter held posts in plantation agriculture in the region. He is, however, best known for discovering the site of Kota Cina in 1972 and his extensive research on regional archaeology, trade and trade ceramics. Members are referred to his career and work history that can be found at the ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute site. A selection of his articles and publications can be found and downloaded here. He will be sorely missed and our sympathy goes to his long-time wife and partner, Sinta.
