In Praise of Teapots

Loading Events

Our November 25 speaker will cover the origin and development of the teapot in China. Once the dedicated function of this pouring vessel was established, the potters of Yixing unleashed their creativity in expressing its myriad forms. This led to a beautiful marriage of form and function which inspired potters in England to make their own impact on this art form. This will be a hybrid SEACS meeting with the talk presented by ZOOM, to be followed by a Singapore-based handling-session by the speaker immediately following the programme. Due to the very limited space that is appropriate for a handling session, SEACS members must apply to attend by sending an email to SEACS using the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottom of this page under “QUICKLINKS”.  Notification of successful attendance plus the time and place of the event will be e-mailed by 22 November.
