Year End Festive Open House

3pm-5pm Sunday, 10 December 2017
Home of Mathew & Patricia Welch
Address to be Advised

Southeast Asian Ceramic Society members and their immediate families are invited to an Open House to meet and mingle with the SEACS Council and fellow members. Come join us for some light refreshments and an array of beverages (both still and bubbly) as we end 2017 and look forward to 2018.

SEACS activities this year have included talks on dehua (blanc-de-chine) ceramics, tomb figurines (mingqi) and a newly discovered Swedish museum with its collection of ceramic treasures; private tours of the Asian Civilisations Museum’s Korean Joseon Exhibition and NUS’ Myanmar Celadon Ceramics Exhibition; a day trip to KL to visit marine archaeologist Sten Sjostrand’s collection; and several pot-handling sessions led by our very knowledgeable collector members. The 2018 season will continue to offer more engaging programs and trips for SEACS members.

The Open House will be from 3pm to 5pm and hosted in the private residence of members Mathew and Patricia Welch. Please RSVP with guest names and ages (1-6, 6-12, 12-18 and over 18) to: seacs.secretary@gmail.com by 6 December.

There is ample free parking at the estate. Convenient public transportation options are: at Scotts Road, take bus #171 or #700 to B15 stop, alight in front of the Leng Kwang Baptist Church, which is on the opposite side of Anglo-Chinese School/Singapore Chinese Girls School. This is the first bus stop after the SPC gas station on Bukit Timah Road (after passing Newton Circus and the intersection with Balmoral Road). The Downtown MRT Stevens station is a 5-min walk along Bukit Timah Road.
