in conjunction with SEACS’ 2010 AGM

with Rose Kerr

This talk reflected the culmination of the work that our speaker has been focused on for many year–the export porcelains in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Her excellent book, written together with Lisa Mengoni and Ming Wilson, was published in 2011: Chinese Export Ceramics in the Victoria & Albert Museum is a superb introduction to some of the most beautiful ceramics in a museum collection.  While focusing on porcelain in the European markets, there are also  sections devoted to the porcelains that were destined for the Middle East, Japan, and Southeast Asia–which formed the basis for this annual ‘William Willetts’ lecture. A summary of her talk may be downloaded here.
